Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Sunday said Jubilee leadership has hatched a plot to use a tyranny of numbers in Parliament to change the constitution in order to remain in power for ever.

Speaking in Nyamira County where he took his presidential candidate campaign, the Wiper leader said:

“There is a plan by Jubilee to use tyranny of numbers and remove the time limit of the serving president so that its leadership can remain in power for ever.”

He said the plan by Jubilee to change the constitution to realize their selfish needs will be achieved after the next general elections if the ruling party succeeds to retain power with majority legislators.

“I ask Kenyans of goodwill to deny Jubilee the chance of forming the next government so that our country is not like Uganda and Zimbabwe where term limits for the serving President has been removed,” he said.

“It is sad that the Zimbabwean President (Robert Mugabe) has remained in power for too long despite his age which is about 100 years. We cannot allow such to happen in our country,” Mr Kalonzo said.

The Wiper leader said Tanzania and Kenya has shown a good example that a president should not be in power forever as such scenario was against tenets of democracy.

At the same time, Mr Kalonzo said Cord affiliate parties will not dissolve but remain intact by fielding one presidential candidate.

Mr Kalonzo was addressing his party supporters at Kemera, Makairo and Kebirigo markets when he took his presidential campaign to Nyamira County.

Also present at the event was Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Nyamira Wiper party gubernatorial aspirant Justice (Rtd) David Onyancha and parliamentary aspirants Victor Swanya and Steve Mogaka
