Six police officers have been killed following a bandit attack in Laikipia West.

Reports reaching Newsday Kenya further indicate that at least four other police officers were injured during the attack.

Two of the police slain during the Wednesday shoot-out are senior in rank.

The officers were ambushed by 100 bandits along the Baringo-Laikipia border at 6.30 pm.

The bandits emerged from a Bush in Laikipia Nature conservancy.
