The motion to confirm Brett Kavanaugh as Supreme Court nominee has passed and gone to the final stage.

The motion passed with Republicans’ 51 votes to Democrat’s 49 votes.

The Senate just voted to advance Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination in a critical test of support.

A final confirmation vote is expected Saturday.

Republican Sens. Jeff Flake and Susan Collins supported the motion, as did Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who had been undecided.

GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski voted no.

President Trump, who was watching tweeted: Very proud of the U.S. Senate for voting “YES” to advance the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh!
