The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua has issued a ban on six cartoon shows aired in Kenya.

The six cartoons that have been banned are the Loud House, the Legend of the Korra and Hey Arnold which are viewed on Nickelodeon and Clarance, Steven Universe and Adventure Time, all available on Cartoon Network.

According to Mutua, the six have homosexual themes that aren’t fit for consumption in Kenya.

“The Kenya Film Classification Board has this morning banned several kids programs on DSTV that promote homosexuality.

“This follows investigations prompted by complaints from members of the public that several cartoon programs on DSTV were laced with subtle messages normalising, glamorising or even glorifying homosexual behaviour contrary to the law and the KFCB Classification Guidelines,” KFCB statement read in part.

The KFCB CEO highlighted that it was the duty for the Government to protect minors and children of impressionable minds from exposure to inappropriate content that runs counter to our cultural values.
