Four people died in Garissa after a vehicle they were traveling in hit an improvised explosive device (IED) on Daadab-Kulan road in Garissa county.

According to sources, the vehicle belonged to ADESO, a non-governmental organisation working in Somalia. The workers were going to their offices in Dobley when the they met their deaths at 2.30pm.

This is the latest in a series of attacks involving IEDs targeting government and humanitarian motorcades in the region. At least 30 people have died in similar attacks in the past month.

Northeastern Regional Coordinator Mohamud Saleh has maintained that local criminal agents may be working with Al-Shabab militias who are entering Kenya through the porous northern borders.
