Orange Democratic party has today issued direct nomination tickets to candidates who have no any opponent in their areas.

Among those issued with the tickets are governors Evans Kidero,Josephat Nanok,Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya.

Other governors include James Ongwae of Kisii,Ahmed Abdullahi(Wajir) and Amason Kingi (Kilifi)

Homabay county women representative Gladys Wanga was also declared to defend her reelection after it emerged no one submitted nomination paper to challenge her.

The aspirants were declared to contest on party tickets unopposed.

The National Elections Board has cleared you as an unopposed candidate to vie in the August 2017 General Election. Consequently, you are hereby invited to receive your nomination certificate on April 3, 2017,” reads the text sent by NEB chairperson Judith Pareno.
This now sets the stage for an epic battle between ODM and Jubilee party.In Nairobi,the ruling party is yet to agree on modalities of nominating their strong candidates.So far,Mike Sonko and Peter Kenneth are poised to challenge Kidero in the August polls.
