Legendary South African Maestro Hugh Masekela has passed on after a long battle with prostrate cancer. The South African trumpeter was widely known by lovers of jazz music all over the world.
He is known as the architect of Afro jazz whose music could be described as timeless. He also used his music to championing the the fight against apartheid in South Africa.
His song ‘soweto blues’ was seen as the anti apartheid movement.
He died at the age of 78 years.
