Popular politician Mike Sonko is all set to become the new Governor for Kenya’s capital city.

This follows an impressive showing in the just concluded general elections by the city politician.

By 10.30am, Sonko had garnered 92,847 votes. he was followed by the incumbent Governor Evans Kidero with 635,990 votes.

Independent candidate and 2013 presidential contestant Peter Kenneth performed dismally, garnering 39,683 votes as at 10.30am.

This performance meant tha Sonko would clinch the city gubernatorial seat with 53.46 per cent while Kidero will most likely get 43 per cent.

With these tallies, 3,076 polling stations had finalized their results out of the total number of polling stations which is 3,378.
