Emerging reports say that several people have been killed in Kariobangi North area.
Reports of violence and revenge attacks have also been reported at All Sopps bus stage Baba Ndogo and Mathare.
According to blogger Robert Alai, the killings are suspected to have been carried out by Mungiki.
He posted: “7 people have been killed this morning by Mungiki in Riverside Area-Kariobangi North…. The same youths are stopping vehicles no.32 plying Dandora Town route at Rounda Stage and looking for (members of a certain community) inside the vehicles. They’re armed with knives and pangas.”
Two vehicles have also reportedly been set ablaze.
“This seems like ethnic profiling because all those shot are from one community and we are now scared that things may get worse because there are rumours there could be more bodies,” one resident alleged.
Outering Road was impassable early in the morning but police have cleared the roads.
