Anne Waiguru is the new Governor for Kirinyaga County. The former cabinet secretary for Devolution trounced her closest rival Martha Karua to clinch the seat.
As at 6pm, Waiguru had garnered 158,760 votes against Karua’s 119,410 votes.
The incumbent Joseph Ndathi could only manage a poor 1.5 per cent of votes cast. He had scored 4,609 votes.
