A five-year old child has been confirmed dead following a fire incident at Infill Academy in Komarock estate, Nairobi.

The cause of the fire, which started a few minutes to 6 am on Friday morning, has not been established yet.

Infill Academy located in Komarock goes up in flames. One child has been confirmed dead.

According to reports reaching Newsday Kenya, the child belonged to the school matron.

Additionally, unconfirmed reports say the child had been left behind by his mother as she rushed to save pupils who were still in their dormitories when the fire broke out.

Flames engulf the top floor of Infill Academy, a school based in Komarock estate, Nairobi.

Police in the area have launched investigations.
