Kennedy Okore, a security guard attached to a vocal Nyanza MP,Millie Odhiambo has been killed during ODM party primaries.

Okore, was run over by a campaign vehicle believed to belong to Odhiambo’s opponent.This was after a altercation between supporters of the outgoing Mbita MP and aspirant James Akal.The incident happened at Urianda primary school polling station,Lambwe ward.

Orange Democratic party was conducting its Homa Bay county primaries on April 24.

Okore was taken to Ogongo sub county hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Millie has blamed her opponent Akal for the chaos.She has since recorded a statement with the police at Homa Bay police station.

“I got several phone calls that my supporters were being deterred from entering the polling station. I rushed to check but when I reached the armed goons confronted and began hurling stones on us,” Millie said.

Earlier in the morning,Millie had accused Akal of using hoodlums to block her from accessing polling station in order to vote.

“Let the police to take action against the culprits urgently to avoid violence in this exercise. ODM should also do its investigations and disqualify them from the race,” she said.

Homa Bay police commander John Omusanga confirmed the incident and promised to investigate.
