Popular presenters Dennis Okari and Betty Kyallo were once billed as a power and well synchronized couple. However, six months after holding a fairytale wedding, their marriage crumbled.
In the aftermath of the divorce, rumours and accusations have popped up on what might have triggered their separation.
A few weeks ago, Betty Kyallo revealed that things might not have been all rosy during their six year courtship.
Apparently, during their traditional wedding, Okari refused to turn up, and instead ended up embarrassing ms. Kyallo.
She is quoted as having told a local magazine that on that day,, not only did Okari refuse to show up, but failed to pick her calls as well.
She said:
“I NEEDED TO FIND OUT WHAT TIME THEIR ENTOURAGE WOULD ARRIVE. BUT HE DID NOT PICK UP MY CALL. I TIRED CALLING HIM AGAIN AFTER AN HOUR AND ONCE AGAIN IT WENT UNANSWERED.’”
Her mother had invited guests who were over 250.
“At 3pm, when we tried to call again, all their phones were off. By the time the sun was going down, it was obvious that I had been stood up on my traditional wedding,” she added.
After waiting in vain, Betty’s dad decide to go and tell their guests that the man who was to take her hand had refused to come and wasn’t picking calls either.

However, she told him that she’d do it herself.
She said:
“My dad wanted to go and tell everyone what was happening, but I told him that i would go. I started by thanking them for coming and then I told them that things did not work out. I would sense that nobody understood what I was talking about, but I let them know that I was grateful to have them home since we had not connected for a long time,” she said.
Although her family wanted her to break up with him given the embarrassment he had subjected her to, Betty apparently went ahead to see Okari behind the scenes.
