A man has been fined Sh110,000 or serve two years in jail for driving an uninsured car.

Bernard Mwenda was found guilty of driving without insurance certificate.

Magistrate Monica Maroro heard that  Mwenda was on August 22 at Meru- Mikinduri road found driving a car with an expired insurance certificate.

The certificate had expired on September 22, 2015.

He was also accused of carrying three uninsured passengers.

The accused was also found guilty of driving a vehicle with worn out tyres.

He had also failed to renew his driving license which had expired on July 30.
