Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu is demanding Sh. 50 million from Kiambu Governor William Kabogo.

This is after Waititu won a case filed by Mr. Kabogo that challenged the validity of his university degree.

Following the court victory, Mr. Waititu has now slapped Mr. Kabogo with a legal fee that is amounting to Sh. 50 million.

The MP has now filed a bill of costs and is seeking an order compelling Kabogo to offset the Sh50,960,422 he accrued from March 14, 2016 to date.

“[The claim considers that] the case was of great public interest, the length of time involved and the nature of the proceedings, including the fact that Kabogo had pegged the value of the claim by affidavit evidence as being a grave constitutional violation, which escalated thereafter,” Waititu says.

Kabogo’s case was lost after the Kenya National Examinations Council KNEC reported that a result slip purportedly bearing Waititu’s resuls was forged.

Additionally, in the ruling delivered in December by High Court Judge Joseph Onguto, other organisations, including the IEBC and the EACC, have been given the mandate to determine such issues.
