Francis Kimemia is the Nyandarua County Governor-elect. This is after the former secretary to the cabinet trounced his closest rival Moses Kiarie Badilisha with a margin of close to 170,000 votes.

As at 9.15am, Mr. Kimemia had secured the win by garnering 207, 789 votes against Kiarie’s 30,591 votes.

The incumbent governor Waithaka Mwangi came in at a distant third with 12,126 votes as of that time.

Coming in at last was Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Muchina Kanja who had received 10,960 votes.

In the Senatorial seat, former Kipipiri MP Githiomi Mwangi was overwhelmingly elected. By 9.15am, he had gotten 243, 266 votes.

His closest rival was Beatrice Gathoni who had secured 13,741 votes while youngster John Methu had gotten 11,371 votes.

The woman representative seat was going to Faith Gitau who had received 254, 502 votes.
