President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that he personally disagrees with the decision of the Supreme Court to nullify his re-election but accepts and respects it.

The president further said that he and his deputy William Ruto are ready to face off with opposition leader Raila Odinga in the fresh election which is to be held within 60 days.

The president further urged Kenyans to maintain peace regardless of the the Supreme Court ruling.

The president added that his re-election, which has now been canceled, was the result of the will of the people.

He noted that there was no way the vote would have gone otherwise since the Jubilee party had won the majority number of elective posts in the country.

President Uhuru was speaking a few hours following the nullification of his re-election as the President of Kenya.
