Kenyans can now be able to access Visa services through their mobile phones. This follows a product by Co-operative Bank that is modeled to allow users access and carry out Visa services from the comfort of their mobile handsets. This product is known as Co-op MVisa. According to the Co-operative Bank, customers will now be able to access the new mobile visa services through its mobile banking product dubbed MCo-op Cash.

The mobile Visa product will allow consumers to buy and pay for goods and services at no extra cost at any shopping outlet that accepts Visa payments.

In the same vein, you will be able to send money for free to other users, withdraw money from your Co-operative Bank account either at a main branch or a Co-op Kwa Jirani outlet.

To access the Visa mobile service, all you have to do is download and update the MCo-op Cash mobile app which is readily available on your smartphone’s Google Play Store.

Interestingly, consumers who don’t have smartphones or devices that have no capacity to download or host a mobile app can still access mobile Visa services. “They can do so by dialing *677#

Below is a step by step guide on how to use the mobile Visa services from Co-op Bank:

  1. Log in to your MCo-op Cash
  2. Choose mVisa option

iii.      Choose ‘Pay with MVisa”

  1. At this point you can 2 options. You can either insert the merchant ID number manually. Or scan the QR code which will automatically sense the merchant name. See the following screen shots

For the QR code scan, a customer will be expected to hold their phones against the QR code.

  1. After inserting the amount. The customer is to click on Pay.
